I grew up in an active household where we loved being outdoors and doing anything that got us up and moving. That translated into me playing a range of different sports recreationally, including volleyball, soccer, gymnastics, and basketball. I started powerlifting at 19 when I found my love for fitness. I’ve stayed consistent with strength training years later, always striving to get stronger and improve form.
I was in a car accident when I was 15 years old, because of which I needed complete knee reconstruction along with a cadaver ACL. While I was in recovery, my doctors told me the trauma to my knee was so severe that I would likely never be able to exercise vigorously, run, or even walk without a limp. After years of intense physical therapy, I decided to put my knee to the test. I stepped into a gym where I quickly realized my passion for fitness- specifically barbell and strength training.
After overcoming the mental and physical barriers that were in my way, I made it my mission to learn and coach a safe, effective way for ANYONE to get stronger, healthier, and more confident. It’s my heart to show every athlete that strength training and barbell lifting is attainable for them, regardless of what they think might be holding them back!
